International Women’s DayThis year on March 8, thousands of events were held around the globe to mark International Women’s Day. The annual date was established about 100 years ago and is an official holiday in many countries of the world with celebrations both similar to Mother’s Day and more formal with government participation. This year’s theme, “Inspiring Change,” encourages advocacy for women's advancement everywhere in every way to challenge the status quo for women’s equality.
