The ghd eclipse iron, with tri-zone technology, was launched to the press this week at a styling event at the Salon and Spa in the Peninsula Hotel in NYC.

Several stylists met with editors to offer dry styles and introduce each to the iron designed in Cambridge, England. "There are many features that make this a perfect iron," said Adam MacClay, editorial stylist, as he created ribbon curls on MODERN's Beauty and Fashion Director Maggie Mulhern. "Each plate maintains consistent heat at 365 degrees and can curl, wave or straighten hair in larger sections."

In just 10 minutes MacClay created big bouncy waves on Mulhern's hair and then pointed out another editor with straight hair. "She came with very tight curls," he says. "All you need is one swipe to straighten a section. Not only is it faster, but the hair is shinier and this helps to maintain the integrity of the hair."

In addition to the ease with styling, the press materials note the following features:

-six "Quick-Thinking Sensors", three in each plate, to guarantee constant heat throughout.

-Superfine Precision Finished Plates, offer smooth, snag free styling.

-Aerogel Insulation leaves the outer body cool to the touch.

The iron also offers universal voltage, a sleep mode and protective plate guards.

The ghd eclipse with tri-zone technology retails for $245. For more information, go to:
