Hair stylist and colorist Jordin Christen had a client come in with some major color correction recently – and to show off her beautiful work she posted to MODERN’s #hairdressermagic hashtag! We loved her work as well, and thought we would share with you how she transformed this brassy blonde into a bodacious redhead!

“My client had about four inches of almost black roots and her blonde was a very damaged looking brassy color. I was so glad she was ready to try a bold, fresh new look for spring! I was inspired by her fun and fiery personality and the warm tones of spring and summer that we are starting to feel in SoCal!”

STEP 1: On natural dark roots Christen used Davines Mask Color in 5.4 with 20 volume and from the line of demarcation to the ends Christen used 5.4 with 15 volume in order to lift the brass out and deposit the maximum amount of copper red while leaving the dimension she already had.

STEP 2: “I gave her a much needed trim and added some long layers. To style I blow dried with ColorProof PlushLocks Leave-In Smooth, HeatProof Anti-Frizz Blow Dry Crème, and Power Sculpt Hard Hold Gel. I curled big sections with a 1 ¼ curling iron and finished by smoothing a drop of ColorProof Crazy Smooth Oil thorough her mids to ends and sprayed with a flexible hairspray.”
