BRIDAL HOW-TO: The Weaved Chignon "Down 'do"

Lauren Salapatek | April 17, 2014 | 12:20 PM

BRIDAL HOW-TO: The Weaved Chignon "Down 'do"This weaved chignon was seen recently at Spring/Summer 2014 Bridal Fashion Week at Oscar de la Renta. Learn how to re-create this loose braided look by stylist Yann Varin using products from L'Oréal Professionnel. (This look is recommended for clients with long hair. If your client doesn't have long hair, try recommending hair extensions.)

STEP 1: Divide hair into three sections, one on each side and a thicker one in the middle.

STEP 2: Take the middle section and pull into a very low ponytail, then secure.

STEP 3: Wrap the side sections around the ponytail to create a weaving effect.

STEP 4: Texturize the ponytail using L'Oréal Professionnel True Grip and L'Oréal Professionnel Perfect Texture to enhance texture and control volume.

STEP 5: Tress a loose braid with the middle section and tuck the end under the elastic for a polished finish.
