Formula How-To: Rose Gold with Underlying Hints of Pink

Amy Washburn (@amydoubleyouuu on Instagram) is a Matrix Artistic Educator and stylist at the Regis Salon in the Mall of America in Minneapolis, MN.  We spotted her warm rose gold finish on Instagram so asked for her formula.

"The top left photo was my guest's 'before.' The bottom left photo was our inspiration," says Washburn. "I wanted to give her a rose gold that was warm overall, but with underlying hints of pink. The photo on the right is the after! She is a natural level 7 dark blonde and her hair was previously highlighted all over."

FORMULA AND STEPS:

Step 1: Highlight hair using Matrix Vlight with 20 volume developer. Using diagonal back sections working towards horizontal as you progress up the head, utilize fine slices instead of weaves to create a more solid appearance to the color. Be careful not to overlap onto previously lightened hair. Process to a level 10 pale yellow, shampoo and towel dry.

Step 2: Apply Matrix Gloss Sync 2oz Clear + 1oz 9CG + 1/4oz 5RV+ with 10 volume. Process for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and condition with Biolage COLORLAST Conditioner.
