Black Lace by CND

Beautiful nails are everywhere at holiday time, and clients don’t want to be left out! Make sure you can exceed expectations no matter what the client chooses—an elegant long-wear Shellac look from CND, a nail art design created with Gelish’s Don’t Get Your Tinsel in a Tangle striping tape, the sparkly looks made easy with Morgan Taylor’s Mini Glitter 4-Pack or the classic, rich shades that all the brands show during this season.

STEP 1: Apply a thin layer of Shellac Base Coat. Cure for 10 seconds in the CND LED Lamp.

STEP 2: Apply two thin layers of Shellac Alluring Amethyst. Cure each layer for one minute.

STEP 3: Apply Vinylux Black Pool to the pattern in a stamp-ing plate.

STEP 4: Use the stamping scraper to remove excess color, roll stamper over pattern and apply to the nail.

STEP 5: Apply a thin layer of Shellac Dark Diamonds in a crescent shape around the left side of the nail. Repeat on the lower half of the right side of the nail.

STEP 6: Apply a thin layer of Xpress Top Coat. Cure for one minute.

STEP 7: Wipe with 99% isopropyl alcohol to remove the top film.

Maggie Mulhern | February 14, 2017

Lead Nail Artist Jessica Tong used Smith & Cult to create the nail look for the A Détacher F/W 2017 collection. “The A Détacher woman is the downtown New York woman.
