Smoky Halloween Nail Art

Jamie Newman | October 27, 2016 | 12:20 PM

For a witchy halloween mani that looks like a dark cloud of black smoke dancing out from a black cauldron, look no further.

Using CND's Creative Play polishes, CND Education Ambassador Ashley Craig gives you the steps to create this spooky, smoky nail art look.

STEP 1:  Apply one coat of CND Creative Play Nail Lacquer Base Coat.
STEP 2:  Apply two coats of CND Creative Play Nail Lacquer in I Blanked Out, and let set until completely dry
STEP 3:  Using either the polish brush or a small dotting tool, diagonally place a bead of CND Creative Play Nail Lacquer Top Coat and a small bead of CND Creative Play Nail Lacquer in Black & Forth to the center of the nail
STEP 4:  Drag CND Creative Play Nail Lacquer in Black & Forth in a figure-eight motion from corner to corner, allowing the color mix
STEP 5: Apply one coat of CND Creative Play Nail Lacquer Top Coat.

Our summer blonde made the perfect model to demonstrate the beauty of Redken’s new pH Bonder because although she isn’t frequently coloring her hair, living in New York City means she’s walking outside a lot with exposure to the sun and city elements—plus thermal damage from regular use of a curling wand or flatiron. So with protection and hair health being the two key benefits of the additive, she was all in.
