Kasey Rials (@kasey.hair) of House Of Color Hair Studio, Colorado Springs, Colorado, says, "My client came in nervous because she is new to the area and her mom is a stylist, and was the only one who had ever touched her hair before. She had been doing highlights for years and told me she wanted something really blonde but less maintenance than foil highlights. We decided to do a balayage highlight and just blend her natural root into the blonde."

Here Rials shares the details for this conversion:

Step 1: Balayage using Scruples Power Blonde Clay Lightener and Trionics Higher and Higher developer. Process at room temperature for 30 minutes and then rinse.

Step 2: Tone using Kenra Demi permanent color - 1/3 9N, 1/3 9VM and 1/3 10N. Process for 15 minutes.
