MAKEOVER: Grown Out Blonde To Tasteful Copper

Maggie Mulhern | February 4, 2017 | 8:40 AM

"My guest has been coming to me for awhile with dreams of being platinum blonde," says  Lauren Barton (@laurenbartonhair) of Heaven the Salon Experience, Winchester, Virginia. "After thinking it over for months, she came in with a new idea...red! When we had our consultation, I made sure she was 100% ready for this change as it would take quite awhile to be back to her once platinum locks."

Here Barton shares the details:

"First things first, I needed to fill her hair to even out porosity and re-pigment her hair so that the color would remain even and vibrant. I filled her hair with 8R PM Shines for 10 minutes. I wiped away the pigment instead of rinsing. I refreshed her natural regrowth with 5VR with 2 ribbons of 6RV and 5N Paul Mitchell the Color.

I then pulled through the ends with 5VR PM Color, 1 red color shot and 1 blue color shot with 20 volume, alternating with 5VR with 2 ribbons of 7RV and 10 volume Paul Mitchell Shines XG. This was processed for 30 minutes."

CONVERSION: From Warm to Cool

Maggie Mulhern | April 17, 2017

"This client came in with very brassy, yellow and orange tones throughout her hair," says Austin Senior. "She was all levels 8 and 9 with about 5 inches of her natural level 7 regrowth. Her goal was a very cool platinum blonde with no silver and a shadow root slightly darker/cooler than her natural level." Here Senior shares the details for this makeover.
