Christian Siriano incorporated a diverse group of models for the A/W 2017 season from- plus sized, to models of all different backgrounds. His look was inspired by natural formations he found in the Valley of Fire State Park. Says Sirano,  "For my F/W 2017 collection, I was inspired by the beehive sand formations in the Valley of Fire State Park. The grooved lines and unique design created by wind caused a beautiful layered effect that inspired a collection full of powerful silhouettes and strong expressive shapes. The deep clay-colored valley inspired a rich and golden color palette full of open-weave textiles and luxe copper velvets. The collection is elegant and bold, but modern for our customer."

To build on that, Sebastian Professional Lead International Stylist, Anthony Cole incorporated natural elements into the hair look. From Clay, to Sea Salt, to Copper- this hair look is as unique as the girls wearing it. “To build off of Christian’s vision, I chose to work with products inspired by nature -Sebastian Professional Craft Clay, and Sebastian Professional Texture Maker, which includes sea salt crystals. I created a textured, windblown fishtail and embellished it with copper wiring to bring another natural element into the look.”

Here Cole shares the how-to:

Step 1:  Blow dry hair with Sebastian Professional Mousse Forte in a left side part leaving the hair clean and smooth into a side ponytail.

Step 2: Fasten the ponytail with a band and take Sebastian Professional Texture Maker and spray it into the ponytail.

Step 3: Apply Sebastian Professional Craft Clay to palms and warm up before making a fishtail braid using the clay as created.

Step 4: Spray Sebastian Professional Re-Shaper hairspray to make the braid look tethered.

Step 5:  Using copper wiring, place the wire randomly throughout the braid to break it up.

Step 6: Finish with Sebastian Professional Zero Gravity for hold.
