The TIGI presentation featuring Anthony Mascolo, Joel Torres, Philip Downing and Akosh Bodi brought in a huge crowd at America’s Beauty Show (ABS) in Chicago this weekend. Gracing the Center Stage were models that showcased TIGI’s 2017 SHIFT Collection which is inspired by grunge, post-punk and sci-fi looks. The collection features eight new cuts and colors that have been created to inspire the creation of forward-thinking looks for the contemporary client.

During their presentation they took these concepts and blended them with commercial finishes.

“As hairdressers we need to challenge ourselves constantly. What we do today, is old tomorrow. We are constantly looking at new things to do,” says Mascolo. “When thinking up new ideas, it’s important to push the boundaries and then bring them back to the salon.”

Adds Mascolo, “Tuning our ideas and creating vision has always been important to us at TIGI. Whether that’s on social media, in academies, on stage or directly in the salon. We always want to bring some positive, creative inspiration to hairdressers, everywhere.”

Mascolo was full of words of inspiration for hairdressers during the presentation. Here, he talks about why hairdressing is one of the greatest professions out there, plus, check out the official SHIFT Collection video presented at ABS.
