Pro tips: When it comes to posting, I honestly think great consistent content is the best. Lighting is everything, but only to enhance a truly beautiful color, cut and finish. With the way the algorithm is constantly changing it’s hard to keep up. I believe if you just continue to be true to yourself and put out great work that is truly the secret. The right people will engage, respond or follow.
Hidden talent (beauty-related): I’m freakishly fast at everything. I book every 30 minutes for any service.
Hidden talent: I have two under age 2—a 6-month-old and a 21-month-old (both boys) and continue to work full time because hair is my passion!
How social media changed my life: I think Social Media has changed my life because it has enabled me to have my dream clientele. I was busy before, which was good, but now I am busy with the right people instead of just people. Having a portfolio on IG allows you to post the kind of work you love most, and in turn you get more of that in your chair. It’s been amazing!
The first time I was featured on MODERN’s Insta: My first MODERN SALON feature was this past February. I had come back from maternity leave in December, and I was on a mission to recreate my social media presence; you can only imagine how much social media can change in just a few months. I had gotten a new phone to take the best pictures and really was focusing on creating the best content possible. Just when I was feeling slightly less than, I said a prayer before bed and thought I’m doing what I love and I have to trust that the universe has my back! I woke up the next morning, and YOU had reposted one of my balayaged blondes, and I was ecstatic! To make it even more amazing you reposted another one of my blondes a week later. It’s crazy how something so little can have such an impact on one’s life. I am so grateful for the platform that MODERN SALON has created for hairstylists. You help us all feel like what we do truly does matter, and for that I am grateful.
