HOW-TO Men's Core Cutting: The Crop, The Disconnect and The Fade

Lauren Salapatek | December 6, 2012 | 2:25 PM

There are unlimited possibilities for men's hair fashion, says Wayne Grund, founder of Surface, all that originate from three core hair cuts: The Crop, The Disconnect and The Fade. In this video, Grund provides you with the steps and principles of how to achieve each of these styles. Once you learn how to master them, then you can modify, exaggerate and combine them to create any men's hair design. Before you tackle any of the cuts show in this video, make sure you have a shear, clipper, razor, blender and comb.

Grund's Three Core Principles:

1. Cut with your end result in mind.

2. Short hair pushes long hair away.

3. Cut directionally.
