 CHI Team Styles Miss Universe

It’s the ultimate beauty show.  Miss Universe brings together crown-wearing beauties from around the globe to compete for the title. This is the 10th year that Farouk Systems has been the official hair sponsor of the Miss USA/Universe pageants and it was a sweet moment hearing that the new Miss Universe is our own Miss USA, Olivia Culpo. The CHI proud-to-be-American culture contributed to her success and made every contestants' hair her crowning glory.  CHI Team Styles Miss Universe

A carefully selected (they must take a special training and pass it prior to being considered) team of CHI hairdressers come together to create the CHI Creative Artistic Team (CAT) and under the direction of Lisa Marie Garcia and Tammy Minton, this multi-cultural team styles the equally varied contestants.  The universal language of beauty, however, contributes to the success of the CHI team.   CHI Team Styles Miss Universe

“Every culture is different, and there are all types of hair texture,” explains CAT member Lorena Garcia. “We use lots of sign language and everyone understands what it means to request ‘Victoria Secret waves’.”

Knowing that their work must last through a day of rehearsal and into the night’s performance, the pressure is on the CHI team to create a foundation for a style that can be built-up during the day.

“We just found out that the girls will all be in Santa hats,” said Team Leader Tammy Mixon backstage before the dress rehearsal. “We are going to start with a light hold product because as the day goes on we’ll have to build and create volume.” She used CHI Magnified Volume.

The CHI team took such care of each contestant, creating gorgeous waves, elegant updos and beautiful shine.  They were all winners.
