THE EVENT: Cosmetologists Chicago’s (CC) “First Mondays” holiday educational seminar featuring the U.S. debut of The Sound of Color, Wella Professional’s annual trends released at Trend Vision.

THE DETAILS: Wella Creative Director Fabio Sementilli hosted the evening of inspiration, which included a night of giving with all proceeds from the event, including donations, going to Hurricane Sandy salon victims. Stage presentations were made by Team I.C.A.N. stars Kathryn Hornick and Brenton Lee, and special guest artist Shirley Gordon. A highlight of the evening was when Sementilli himself stepped on stage to demonstrate a trend.

THE LAST WORD: “Cosmetologists Chicago is proud to continually bring high-caliber talent to our members and professional friends,” said CC President Joseph Cartagena. “Fabio and Shirley’s innovative style, coupled with their strength in mentoring the next generation of stylists, is something that inspires us all.” CC will continue to host monthly educational events throughout 2013. Known as “First Mondays,” they pay homage to the CC tradition of educating salon professionals for more than 100 years.
