Anne Hathaway and Julianne Moore Best in Beauty at Golden Globes

Anne Hathaway and Julianne Moore Best in Beauty at Golden GlobesAnne Hathaway not only won a Golden Globe last night, she took home top honors as the best in beauty.  Her luscious white Chanel gown, playful pixie haircut and flawlessly applied bright pink lips stole the show.   Wearing white on the red carpet can be tricky, but Anne had the good style sense to wear a colorful lip. Bravo.

Another big winner was Jennifer Lawrence. Her Golden Globe statue was well earned, but I was star struck by her smoky eyes, pale red lips and unstructured wavy up-do.  Her tomato red belted Dior gown was the showstopper of the night.  I can’t wait to see what she wears on the red carpet at the Oscars.

Style icon Julianne Moore continued to woo the fashionistas in a Halston-inspired black and white gown by Tom Ford.  Miss Moore commented to Ryan Seacrest that she just rang Mr. Ford up and asked for a gown – lucky her!   Her red tresses pulled up into a French twist complimented the dress to perfection as did her amazing hot pink lips. Anne Hathaway and Julianne Moore Best in Beauty at Golden Globes

Much Kudos goes to Jodie Foster for earning a Golden Glove Lifetime Achievement Award.  Not many women can make a chin length bob look elegant as well as  youthful, but Miss Foster in kohl lined eyes and glowing skin pulled it off.  Splendid in a blue Giorgio Armani gown, her wacky speech was the event of the night.

Honorable mentions go to Amanda Seyfried, Kate Hudson and Claire Danes - all looked youthfully lovely with radiant skin, glossy lips and long flowing hair. Anne Hathaway and Julianne Moore Best in Beauty at Golden Globes

Most improved of the night goes to Girl’s Lena Dunham, who ditched the severe slicked back hair and punkish makeup she wore to the Emmy Awards for a wispy pixie with clean and fresh makeup. Anne Hathaway and Julianne Moore Best in Beauty at Golden Globes

Now the stars that needed some help.

Style icon Jessica Chastain looked marvelous in a pale aqua Calvin Klein gown, but her hair looked like she was caught in the rain. It was a disappointment because her makeup was stunning and fresh – loved the matte plum mouth.   I just wish she had fluffed up the hair. Anne Hathaway and Julianne Moore Best in Beauty at Golden Globes

I adore Adele, but her trademark heavy eyeliner paired with a huge beehive and a shapeless black mou mou was just too much.  She looked like she was trying out for the opera.  Next time, I’d like to see her take the makeup down a notch and wear something youthful and fun.

Sienna Miller may be one of the most beautiful women on the planet, but that doesn’t mean she can hit the red carpet sans makeup.  Her skin was shiny rather than glowing and her boxy rose patterned dress by British designer Erdem wasn't flattering.  Would it be a sin to wear some concealer and lipstick?

 See you at the Oscars.
