The American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS) and the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation have announced the 10 inaugural winners of the Beauty Changes Lives Prospective Student Scholarship Competition.

Winners and their schools are as follows:
Hope Carrington, Paul Mitchell The School – Dallas, Carrollton, TX
Tucker Cinalli, Rizzieri Aveda School, Marlton, NJ
Meredith Davis, Aveda Institute, Des Moines, Des Moines, IA
Violet Hano, Aveda Institute, Baton Rouge, LA

Each winner receives a $2,000 tuition scholarship to pursue their dream of a career in beauty and wellness at an AACS member school. A panel of industry judges selected each winner based on their submitted video or essay addressing how they expect to change lives as a beauty and wellness professional.

While an earlier competition in 2012 awarded four celebrity mentorship opportunities to enrolled students, the second round of scholarship funding by the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation awarded scholarships exclusively to students not currently enrolled in a cosmetology, esthetics, nails, barbering or massage therapy program.

Beauty Changes Lives Foundation President Lynelle Lynch commented on the enthusiastic support of individuals and organizations throughout the beauty and wellness industry who support the Beauty Changes Lives scholarship program. “Companies and individuals within the beauty and wellness industry share a passion not only for the business, but they also inherently appreciate how this career changes lives for professionals, individuals and communities,” Lynch said.

The Beauty Changes Lives Foundation is supported through donations of time, talent and treasure by some of the world’s biggest names in beauty including Wella, Hairdressers at Heart, Massage Envy, CND, Dr. Howard Murad, celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson and celebrity stylist/male grooming authority Diana Schmidtke.
