What to Wear to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week: Dierdre Adipietro at Betsey Johnson

The Betsey Johnson show at New York's Fashion Week was absolutely fantastic. We saw lots of black and white fashions with hints of hot pink, skulls, and adorable mini dresses and sheer fabrics. It was a hot, hot show. Even Nikki Minaj showed up!

But, we all know it's not just the designers that make the magic happen--it's the HAIR DESIGNERS!

This is my first Fashion Week and I've got to be honest, I was absoutely terrified about WHAT TO WEAR during this amazing week full of fashion junkies. And, I've discovered, I'm not alone in the fear!

I, along with MODERN's Beauty and Fashion Director Maggie Mulhern, have been stopping the hairdressers backstage to ask what THEY wear, and how their fashion helps them get through the busy days, but also allows them to look the part of a hot, trendy stylist backstage at Fashion Week.

In this next video, check out Dierdre Adipietro, who Maggie and I caught up with during the Betsey Johnson show at New York's Fashion Week.

Her musts?

1. Comfortable shoes.

2. BLACK clothing.

3. Accessories to make your outfit pop.

(check out Dierdre's accent "D"-- a Betsey staple.)

4. A toolbelt to hold all her clips, products and combs.

Our favorite quote? "Black is the new black!"
