My bangs would curl up, my hair would frizz up and wave and be gross.

I finally decided in high school that I would grow out my bangs and, in the case of an emergency, I could just throw my hair up in a ponytail and look fine.

Well, I have a big forehead (or, as the boyfriend likes to call it, a "five-head"). It's built for bangs.

After a few years, I knew it was time to switch up the look, and I decided to give bangs another try. Now that I have them, I couldn't imagine going back. I love ‘em!

And, the best part about them is the different styles I can get with different tools.

Big Bang TheoryIf I want to wear them straight and sleek, I use my Hot Tools Pinkie, a super-cute mini-size flatiron, perfect for styling short hair or bangs.

If I want to wear them swept to the side, I use a regular one-inch flatiron (either my GHD Styling Iron or my new Bio Ionic Flash Heat).

Although I definitely still have my less-than-perfect hair days, I'm happy I have the tools to keep my bangs lookin' good at least 90 percent of the time.
