Brig from Shear Genius: Her Style Story

Age 4, My pajamas had a hat!

Since a long as I could remember I have loved personal style. By the time I could talk I was dressing myself. My mom always allowed me to wear whatever I wanted, and let me tell you I DID! I love to be unpredictable with my fashion. The more color, the better. As a girl my fashion idols were Pippi Longstocking & Cyndi Lauper. Through my teen years, Madonna & these days combine those with Bjork, Alexander Mcqueen & Rodarte. By the time I hit 13 I shed my tomboy image & started obsessing over the fashion layouts in every magazine. That obsession continues today with POP, Z!nk, Another Magazine, S, Nylon…to name a few. My mom taught me to be myself & never worry about what others thought. Through countless years of teasing, I never conformed my personal fashion style. Of course it has changed over the years , as it should, however I really wanted to share my personal style journey with you and felt that pictures were the best way to do so. My hair & weight was ever changing, however through out my 20’s I kept my hair longer at the request of a husband. Never again! By 30, we divorced, I opened p!ay hair lounge & TURNED MY VOLUME UP! At age 34, I have never felt as comfortable in my own skin. I love my short colorful hair and wear whatever I WANT. I do not dress for the comfort of others. I cant help but stand out & I accept that full on. Love my style or not, I DO and at the end of the day, that is all that ever should matter. I hope that with my guts to share these amazingly hilarious personal pics with you, you are inspired to revisit your style history!
