Usually, I'm a GHD Styling Iron loyalist. I can't go anywhere without it. Don't get me wrong-I'm all about experimenting with different flatirons-in fact I LOVE THAT-but, whenever I try another iron, I usually end up re-ironing my hair with my GHD.

This morning, as I was getting ready for the office, I decided to give my new Bio Ionic FlashHeat 1" Nano-Ceramic Styling Iron a whirl.

Results? Awesome.

Of all days for me to take a "styling risk," today shouldn't have been one of them. It's almost 90 degrees and crazy sunny outside-almost a guaranteed bad hair day for me. But, so far, my hair still looks fantastic! It's shiny, straight and lacking any hint of a flyaway. (There is, however, something that's been stuck in my eye all day and it's driving me nuts. But, that's not Bio Ionic's fault.)

Straight to It

Some ceramic flatirons have two pieces: the heater and the plate. Bio Ionic's new FlashHeat iron (bioionic.com $130) is just one piece, because the heater is fused to the plate, which makes it heat up fast (up to 400 degrees) and heat is evenly distributed.

Plus, it even looks like it's really high-tech: The boyfriend (who usually doesn't look at my hair tools) was even interested!
