I recently sneakered and suncreened-up to join Sexy Hair’s 3rd Annual Walkathon to benefit “Look Good Feel Better.”

Meeting at Santa Monica Pier, we were an easy-to-spot crowd in custom-designed red and pink t-shirts.  A large group of Sexy Hair employees came together to walk a total of 500 miles and to raise approximately $5,000 for the company’s philanthropic partner, Look Good, Feel Better.  LGFB is a national public service program that helps patients struggling with the appearance related challenges of cancer. For each mile completed during the hour and a half long event participants received a colored wrist band.  At the end of two hours, those wrist bands were collected and tallied up.  I was honored to be invited to participate and to do my small part.

“Losing one life to cancer is one too many,” said Karl Heinz Pitsch, President and CEO of Sexy Hair. “Looking at the back of our shirts at the sheer number of people that have been affected in one way, shape or form is a real tragedy and we walk today to offer those champions afflicted with this illness our love and support in addition to honoring those brave souls who lost their own fight.”

Prior to the event, each participant submitted a name of someone they knew who battled with cancer and the names were included in the t-shirts they wore that day in honor of those who are survivors and in memory of those who lost the fight.

A partner since 2011, Sexy Hair has raised over $300,000 for Look Good Feel Better.
