Vim and Vigor Salon was launched about six months ago in the fashionable South of Market (SOMA) neighborhood in San Francisco by Gregory Murray and Peter Popejevalo. The beautiful interior houses a hair care haven that Murray has staffed with stylists who share his passion for education.

"Since my first career in sales, I have been amazed by the power of great employee education as a foundation for business. When you educate employees with commitment and enthusiasm, you are setting yourself up for success," says Murray.  "I'm excited to bring my passion for education and the salon industry together at Vim and Vigor. Our team has amazing experience and a cohesive attitude that's rare in this industry. I can't wait for our clients to experience what a difference this approach makes."

Murray recruited lead stylist Garret Hamabata who, in addition to his reputation as a master of personalized looks for all hair textures, has an extensive educational background with several major manufacturers and advanced academies. Garret leads the salon's cutting education program.

Vim and Vigor's coloring education program is directed by lead colorist Beverly Zunke who has spent her life working in salons throughout Europe and her native U.K. and manages to combine all the latest hair coloring technology with practices that ensure healthy, well conditioned hair.

The Vim and Vigor Educational Program is an in-house training system that provides measurable progress-tracking and benchmarks to help stylists advance their careers. The program is based on a mentorship philosophy that focuses on technique, consultation and customer service for all cut, color and styling clients. Vim and Vigor offers cuts, styling, a complete range of hair color services and thermal straightening services for men and women.

For a complete beauty work-up, the central hallway of the salon is lined with rooms for tanning beds and spray tans from the salon's sister business Tan Bella.

An urban refuge amid the hustle of San Francisco, Vim and Vigor was designed by award-winning architect Stanley Saitowitz with fabulous interior touches like black concrete floors and violet lighting with flat screen TVs throughout that play scenes from the latest Paris, Milan and New York fashion shows. In a design turn that you won't see too many other places, the walls of the styling areas have actually be done in a finish that suggests a salon floor strewn with hair.
