I was recently invited to attend a book signing at Avalon Salon in Deer Park, Illinois. Neil Ducoff, founder/CEO of Strategies, recently published a book, No-Compromise Leadership. Recently he visited Avalon to spend a few days coaching the staff and an evening doing a book signing.

Bonnie Conte, co-owner of Avalon, did a great job hosting the event. She had hors d’oeurves and drinks and set up a signing area for Neil in a large, airy mani/pedi room in the salon. People were able to chat with Neil and the Avalon staff, get their books signed and mingle.
This was a good example of a salon event done right. Conte invited other salons and business owners who might benefit from the book and her staff was professional and welcoming. She even had photos of Neil posted around the salon with “Neilisms” from the book (example: “Customer loyalty begins and ends with your culture.”).
