Day 3 of America's Beauty Show I woke up at the crack of dawn to get ready for another day of hair demonstrations, education and photography opportunities. While driving to McCormick Place for my final day of coverage, I thought about all of the wonderful events and shows I saw this weekend…from the Vidal Sassoon The Movie premiere and Texture! to the Inspiring World of Redken and of course all of the mini-runway presentations on the show floor. ABS was definitely a success this year!

The first event I attended yesterday was The Student Assembly & AACS Bringing Beauty To Life on the ABS Runway. So who presented? MODERN's Executive Editor of Social Media and Video/Editor and Chief of First Chair Alison Shipley, Brig Van Osten and Luis Alvarez gave tips and advice to the students, Beauty Changes Lives Spokesperson and Ambassador Ted Gibson amped up the audience with some words of wisdom, and International Artistic Director for Pivot Point International Yolly Ten Koppel closed out the show with some added inspiration.

Another exciting event I attended yesterday was The CND Shellac & Fashion Fusion with Jan Arnold Runway show that showcased the brand's 2011 Spring/Summer nail trends and "how to" Shellac demonstrations. Co-founder and Style Director Jan Arnold talked about each of the new trends, while the runway models flaunted their nails at the end of the runway.

Interestingly, this is the first of its kind "nail" event that ABS has showcased. In order to show the audience the tiny designs drawn on the nails, the how tos were broadcasted on a large screen so that everyone could get a close up and personal view.

Each of the designs incorporated layering, nail art design paired with fashion. According to CND the polish will last 14 days and the whole process takes about an hour. Attendees to this workshop received a CND UV Lamp, take home products and a Spring/Summer Look Book (with a fee of $75).

Interested to see what some of the new CND Shellac Trends are? (Stay tuned to this blog because I will be adding more information about each of these trends soon.)
