Extravagant Updos at the 2010 Emmy Awards

It seems like many celebrities last night at the 2010 Emmy Awards opted for glamorous, elegant updos. Check out the celebs that made my up-DO list!

ANNA PAQUIN:

True Blood star and newlywed Anna Paquin’s updo dazzled at last night’s Emmy Awards 2010. Her textured, sculpted updo complimented her edgy Alexander McQueen gown and of course, her new wedding ring! To get the look apply root lifter (at the roots) and anti-frizz cream throughout the hair. Once the hair is dry, use a ½” curling iron, and set hair in pin curls. After 15-20 minutes, remove the pins and gently shake and loosen the curls. Then pull back the hair into a high French twist and secure with bobby pins for a an ultimately glamorous look.
  HEIDI KLUM:

Heidi Klum’s curly updo also rocked the red carpet. It seems like a lot of celebrities were going for the “pouf” look this time around. I like that her style was brushed back showing off her astonishing necklace!
  KIM KARDASHIAN:

Known for always looking polished and sleek, Kim Kardashian’s Emmy hair was romantically messy last night. Her updo contained full-bodied waves and some texture to complement her white goddess inspired gown. To get the look add mousse to wet hair, set in pin curls for shape and then with a diffuser blow dry the hair and take out the clips. According to Clyde Haygood, Kardashian’s hair stylist, he rolled the outer parts of the hair in his hand to make them roll back and take on a ropey texture. He pinned those back into the rest of the hair for lots of texture, without being “fuzzy looking or falling out."
  NINA DOBREV:

Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev looked stunning in her one-shoulder, peach Zuhair Murad dress. To top it off her tight updo/bun completed the outfit. Do you think her updo pouf was classically configured? If so, vote on MODERN’s Facebook.
