Moroccanoil has joined the battle to help deter diversion of its salon and spa products by launching an anti-diversion and anti-counterfeiting system, which they are presently showcasing at Cosmoprof. The software and tracking technology will allow Moroccanoil to precisely determine which party purchased a product, and quickly identify and address the source of any diversion.

"We take this issue very seriously, and are 100 percent committed to prevent the sale of our products through illicit or unauthorized channels," says Zohar Paz, CEO of Moroccanoil North America.

The new system places over 100 invisible matrix encryption codes throughout each label, (both front and back), giving each bottle its own individual tracking ‘DNA' that cannot be manipulated by diverters in an attempt to evade detection. Products can be tracked even if only 1mm of the label is present. For added reinforcement, the special cues are designed to refer back to the batch code.

According to Paz, "These codes can only be read by a high-tech device that
we developed expressly for this purpose and have now shared throughout our
chain of distribution. This new process assures accountability for every
Moroccanoil product."
