Six Different Makeovers!

I love before and after shots of women getting beauty makeovers, especially when there is a dramatic change! I came across some intensive hair makeover shots conducted by the stylists at Michael's Salon & Spa in Centerville, OH. The salon reached out to their clients through e-mail and social networks to ask for makeover submissions. The photo shoot, called "Looking For Faces," featured real women over 40 who were willing to make a major change. Here's the results:

To make Karin's hair smoother and frizz free, Designer Dennis Milburn gave her a Keratin Complex Smoothing Treatment. Then he added permanent color to lighten Karin's natural tones and added subtle highlights. He cut her hair to shoulder length and softened her look with face-framing layers.

To style, Dennis used Fortifying Ultra Gel by Aquage, and then blew it dry with a round brush to add lift and volume. He used Working Spray to hold her style.

Lisa's hair was long and in need of a boost of color. First they donated Lisa's ponytail to Pink Heart Funds. Then Designer Tari Huber started with a chestnut brown permanent color to warm up Lisa's look. She then added chunky blonde highlights, face-framing layers and a side-swept bang.

To style, Tari used Moroccanoil to strengthen and condition before blow-drying. She used Osis Slick before flat ironing to help straighten Lisa's naturally curly hair. Finally, she set the look with Bed Head Masterpiece by TIGI. Then she curled sections of her hair.

Designer Alison Kirkwood used a rich base color to add warm undertones to Ellen's hair color. Then she broke it up by adding caramel and blonde highlights. Since Ellen had very fine, thin hair, Allison cut four inches from the length and gave her medium to long layers to add volume. Then she added side-swept bangs to soften the look.

Jodi Schuh, the designer for Digma, added red highlights to Digma's dark brown hair, and then cut it in a very versatile style with lots of layers. As you can see in the photo, Digma can wear her hair straight, flip the ends for a textured look or embrace her natural curl.

To style, Jodi used Fortifying Ultra Gel by Aquage. She finger-dried Digma's hair until it was 90 percent dry, then used a round brush to add volume and shape to the ends. Jodi then used Matte Putty by Sebastian to shape and hold her look.

Designer Lisa Homer first gave Andrea a keratin treatment to make her hair smooth and manageable. A few days later, Andrea's hair was ready to be colored and styled. Lisa used three to four multi-tone colors to complement Andrea's skin tone. For the cut, Lisa chose a chin-length bob.

To style, Lisa used Moroccanoil and followed up with Volupt Spray by Sebastian to add body without curl. She used a round brush to blow-dry, and then smoothed the ends with a flat iron.

Designer Amanda Hansen added subtle highlights to soften Sharon's dark color, and then cut her hair in a sleek bob. Amanda also gave her wispy bangs to compliment her face shape.

To style, Amanda sprayed Volupt by Sebastian and flowed up with Aquage Uplifting Foam at the crown. She used a round brush when blowdrying and followed up with a flat iron to shape the ends.
