NCMEC Cut-A-Thon at Pivot Point, May 25

You still have time to participate in the Pivot Point International Cut-A-Thon to raise money for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). It’s taking place this May 25, National Missing Children’s Day. Pivot Point students will be providing services including hair styling, hair and scalp treatments, color services, facials, body wraps, make up applications and nail services. It might be fun, or at least interesting, to see what’s going on at such a great school!
If you don’t want to (or can’t) go to any of the Chicago area centers, maybe you could throw your own cut-a-thon for this very worthy cause. More than 50 schools have already signed up to hold their own events.
According to Corrine Passage, Executive Director of Pivot Point Cares for Kids, “one in five girls and one in ten boys will be sexually exploited by the time they reach adulthood. In addition, one in seven kids will receive sexual solicitations online. The center remains the nation’s preeminent resource for recovering missing children.”
The Pivot point event will take place from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. at their three Chicago area campuses: 1560 Sherman Avenue in Evanston; 3901 W. Irving Park Road, Chicago and 144C W. Lake Street, Bloomingdale. For more information on the Cut-A-Thon, call 847-866-0500, ext 7711, or visit www.pivot-point.com
