It sounds almost like a contradiction in terms, but it seems some appliances are "green"er than others.

The first one I heard about and had a chance to play with privately is the Centrix Q-Zone Quiet Dryer by Cricket. Leonardo Manetti, Pasquale Ferrante and Marco Santini, co-owners of the Ion Studio in NYC use the Q-Zone because they believe it complements their "green" philosophy. Says Santini "I can control hair in such a way that each blow dry is more efficient and makes for a low maintenance blowout." Manetti adds that he finds the dryer "does not interfere with the aesthetic and therapeutic salon experience." It is incredibly light weight, shockingly quiet and dried my hair in half the time. It's pretty too! (www.cricketco.com)

The 4Ever Green Iron is equally cool and the perfect iron for those looking to style and care for the environment at the same time. Most parts of the 4Ever Green iron are recyclable and it passed the RoHS regulations that restrict the use of hazardous substances. 100%recyclable material was used to create the paper thin box and tourmaline technology was used to make the ceramic plates. To top it off, a percentage of the profit is contributed to various green organizations which are listed on the website. The iron is available in a one inch and mini (6 inches). It makes you feel good to iron! (www.4eghairsystems.com)
