Mark Townsend was inspired by the black Lanvin dress worn byJanuary Jones at the 67th Annual Golden Globes this past Sunday night to give her a winning "do". There weren’t a lot of headbands on the red carpet (like none), but Townsend made the bold decision and was applauded by critics and fellow stylists alike.
"As soon as I saw the dress I knew I wanted to put her hair up," said Townsend, “I think that adding the satin ribbon as a headband gave a classic French twist with a very modern edge."
Townsend first applied a small amount of Moroccanoil Treatment to January's damp hair and blew it dry with a round brush.
He then took a dollop of Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream and then finger combed the hair to give a soft hold and add mores hine to leave the hair extremely smooth.
Finally, he gathered the hair into a French twist and secured with about 10 bobby pins. “To give her a progressive, chic look I used satin ribbon as a headband."
January may not have won a globe in her category of "Actress in a Television Drama" (she stars in Mad Men), but we give Ms. Jones and Mr. Townsend OUR award for "Great Hair on the Red Carpet."
