It was the move that rocked Twi-fans' world last week. Robert Pattinson. Cut. His. Hair. Debuting the new 'do on Ellen, he joked about a nit infestation, before admitting it was for his new role in Water for Elephants. This comes just a couple weeks after Adrian Grenier chopped off his curly locks. Does this signal a new trend in cleaner, neater looks for men? We went straight to men's hair guru, Paul Wilson, the Artistic Director of American Crew, for his opinion on the new styles.

"It's definitely a nod to classic style, but it keeps a looseness to it," says Wilson of Pattinson's cut. "He has kind of been the poster child for acceptably disheveled style and for him, this is really refined, so it's kind of a shocking change."

One plus-it's a style that's easier to maintain, says Wilson. "You can take one pliable styling product, with either a shiny or matte finish, then style with fingers for a casual look, or a comb for refining."

Pattinson and Grenier's new styles are right in line with the 2010 American Crew collection, Informant. "The current trend is a hybrid of what was last year's classic statement-Mad Men¬-and shapes that are loose and textural, yet restrained. It's really what we are trying to do with this collection, with a barbered quality to the perimeter, then movement, curl and texture for the interior."
