click image to zoomGetty Images How have you managed to work during the months you’ve nursed your babies? Does your salon policy permit you to go home for feedings or pump your milk during your break? Have you ever had a client breastfeed at the salon—even during a service? This is World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) 2014, and Healthy Hairdresser would love to hear your breastfeeding stories in and out of the salon!

The WBW theme this year is “Breastfeeding: A Winning Goal—For Life!” Breastfeeding proponents believe that supporting breastfeeding globally aligns with UN goals of fighting poverty and promoting healthy and sustainable development throughout the world. The WBW website states: “Exclusive breastfeeding and adequate complementary feeding are key interventions for improving child survival, potentially saving about 20% of children under five. We call on all celebrants of WBW to Protect, Promote and Support Breastfeeding: it is a vital Life-Saving Goal!”

Email your breastfeeding stories to Healthy Hairdresser at rullman@vancepublishing.com.
