Online Hair Education Available as a Download or Live “Radio”

You’re probably familiar with Milady for its textbooks when you were in beauty school. But the company also markets advanced hairdressing education. One of its latest efforts, called “Milady’s Salon & Spa Coaching Corner,” tackles business topics to help salon professionals maximize their earning power. Each 30-minute “radio show” coaching session can be heard live as it airs by calling into a special phone number. Typically, the show airs on Mondays, and if you listen live you also can call in. However, as another option for online hair education, you also can download programs after they’ve aired.

The most recent episode, “Secret Weapons To Increase Your Salon Profits and Decrease Your Workload,” asks professionals, “Are you working too hard and earning too little?” Milady coaches Ana Loiselle (photo above) and Steve Gomez offer six steps to begin earning more while working less—what we call “working smarter, not harder.” The coaches understand that the best technicians are not necessarily among the highest paid in this industry—or, I would guess, in any industry.

Here at Modern Salon Learning, we’re in the business of online hair education, too, and we realize that it’s not easy to make time for training, even when you accept that you must “learn to earn.” I find that it takes something like blocking out an hour in your calendar every week because, if you wait until time magically appears, you’ll never take advantage of technical and business lessons that will truly help you to increase your income.
