Everyone appreciates a good movie, but no one LOVES movie stars more than hairstylists and makeup artists! I was thrilled to finally see hair and makeup on the ballot. BRAVO on this historic moment! Here are my "sails and fails" of the evening.

Everyone appreciates a good movie, but no one LOVES movie stars more than hairstylists and makeup artists! I was thrilled to finally see hair and makeup on the ballot. BRAVO on this historic moment! Here are my "sails and fails" of the evening.
I sat, glass of wine in one hand, cell phone in the other, so I could do side bar commentary with other notable stylists such as Charlie Price, Ted Gibson and Jason Backe. I was so delighted to see visions of old Hollywood flair.

SAILS
Charlize Theron was the epitome of chic sophistication with an edge. Her short hair made an impact that I predict will affect spring trend. Ladies don't be afraid chop the locks and give great face.
Another "sail" was Adele, who was absolutely stunning with her Bridgette Bardo-ish hair and retro monochromatic smokey eye! She was brilliant from head to toe.
FAILS
Melissa McCarthy’s big, backcombed retro-inspired style was a fail for me.
Kelly Osbourne's lavender locks were impressive but that black bobby pin in her hair was awkward for me. I'd suggest a vintage broach instead.
Last, but not least, Helena Bonham Carter’s bed head and yards of fabric made me dizzy.
