In this exclusive shoot for MODERN SALON, Luis Alvarez was inspired by his two favorite beauty eventsâthe Academy Awards in Hollywood and Americaâs Beauty Show in Chicago.
Alvarez, who is a photographer as well as a hairdresser, has an eye for shapes, which he cultivated carefully on his red-hot models in this collection, titled âMood Swing.â
âMost of the hair cuts I see on the streets fail to express their wearerâs personality,â he says. âThe cuts have some form of round layering that neither enhances the facial features, nor reveals their character.â
Alvarez recommends cuts that are organically diffused, geometrically defined or a combination of both. âA well-executed cut offers an internal structure that is geometrically defined and a perimeter shape that is organically diffused to delicately frame the face,â he says.
