Born and raised in Iowa, this farm boy realized his true calling early in life. His work as lead hair stylist on American Idol elevated him to celebrity stylist.
THE COOLEST LOOK I EVER CREATED: The style I’m most known for is the “ponyhawk” worn by Sanjaya on American Idol.
THE CELEB I WOULD MOST LIKE TO MAKEOVER: I would love to work with The Biggest Loser show. I love doing makeovers that are really meaningful.
THE BEST THING ABOUT MY JOB IS: Traveling and getting the opportunity to do different things everyday and meeting new people.
THE TOUGHEST PART OF MY JOB IS: Making time for my personal life.
IF I WASN’T A HAIRDRESSER I WOULD BE: I would have liked to have been an event planner or interior designer.
MOST PEOPLE WOULD BE SURPRISED TO LEARN THAT: I’m a decorated veteran with four medals and am a qualified marksman with U.S., German and British weapons.
THE LOVE OF MY LIFE: I am taking applications and currently doing interviews. Submission videos can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. SERIOUSLY :)
MY CAUSE: Last year my brother Marv (number eight of 15 kids) went in for his 50-year-old physical and found out he had colon and liver cancer. He passed away four months later and it has changed my life. He had great hospice care and now I know first-hand how important this group is. I think of Marv everyday and really miss him.
I BECAME A HAIRDRESSER BECAUSE: I am the 13th of 15 kids and my brother Leon (number 12) literally told me I should do hair and two weeks later I was enrolled at Bill Hill’s College of Cosmetology in Davenport, Iowa, and I have never looked back. As Bill would always say and I currently say: “People want to know you care before they care what you know.” Words to live and work by.
