About the Event:
Stranded Media, a digital news outlet that covers the New York beauty scene, will host its 1st Annual Stranded Summit. This is a two-day gathering of progressive hairstylists, who will learn from thought leaders in the beauty industry. The event will take place at MILK Studios, one of the world’s top photography studios, in New York City.
“New York is the hair capital of the world,” says Patrick Kritchever, Founder and CEO of Stranded Media. “We wanted to create a raw environment where hairstylists can renew their creative energy and fresh ideas to keep their art—and their business—at the cutting edge.”
Sunday, October 19th:
On Day 1, Stranded will kick it off with a keynote speaker and special demonstration from the Label m Artistic team. Two classes titled “How to Grow Your Business” and “Best Practices for Social Media” will follow. Then there will be a panel discussion titled “The Business of Beauty” which will feature top beauty executives discussing the state of the industry and what the future holds. This will be followed by a panel discussion titled “How I Made It In This Industry,” where four celebrated hairstylists will talk about their road to success. The day will end with a cocktail reception and a special invitation-only after party available to stylists that register early.
Monday, October 20th:
Sean Gallagher, Serge Normant hairstylist and Stranded Summit's Creative Director has created a curriculum with a broad spectrum of class options, so that there are alternatives for everyone from newbies to expert stylists. We have hand picked a team of all-star hairstylists who will be teaching hands-on and look-and-learn workshops. These classes will range from advanced styling and cutting techniques to the latest in hair color to best practices in editorial campaigns. The day will end with a cocktail reception where one of our favorite DJ’s will be spinning.
For both days,Stranded will offer complimentary breakfast, lunch, beverages, high-speed Internet, and mobile phone charging stations. Early registration opens April 1st, 2014.
