Dr. Alan J. Bauman, M.D. is a full-time, board-certified Hair Restoration Physician who has dedicated his over twenty-year career exclusively to helping men and women medically maintain, enhance and restore their hair. He is most well-known for pioneering “FUE-style” hair transplantation, in addition to eyelash transplants and the use of PRP Platelet Rich Plasma for hair regrowth. Dr. Bauman developed the HairCoach™ educational program of knowledge and proprietary protocols to share with professionals interested in helping those with hair loss concerns. He is a frequently invited lecturer, consultant and leading expert whose advice is routinely sought by Fortune 500’s, international medical conferences and journalists.
 

Saretta Bowerman is a master stylist and makeup artist in Naples, FL, where she opened her Blue Water Salon three years ago. She specializes in extension services color, cut and balayage. Earlier this year, Saretta’s exceptional bridal styling and braids earned her grand prize honors in the Braids & Brides contest by Modern Salon, which also named her part of its 2017 Artist Collective and the 2017 Modern Salon 100, a curated list of top social media beauty influencers.
 

Christine DiBenedetto is Big Life, Thin Hair’s founder, has been a stylist for over 20 years and is co-owner of Wink, a successful salon in Asheville, NC with a mission to create, educate, elevate and love.  Her studies in sociology and anthropology lead, naturally, to becoming a platform artist, award-winning, burlesque performer and business owner.  Christine chose to take her personal thinning hair journey public to help other women with thin hair and stylists in need of resources. Big Life, Thin Hair is about: education, empowerment and love. No more fear or hiding. Life is as big as you make it.
 

Maggie DiFalco feels fortunate to be involved in this industry for the last 23 years, not as a stylist, but as a salon owner with an Elementary school teaching degree.  After leaving her first grade classroom to start building a retail business in a salon, she soon found herself taking over the space when the salon went out of business.  In 1994, with one hairdresser and four nail techs, the business (and her understanding of it) grew.  Her salon has been named in Salon Today 200 for 10 years running and she has been very fortunate to partner with some great companies that support her love for education.
 

Joseph Ellis became a hair renewal specialist in 1990 after a long search to find a better solution for himself.  He surrounded himself with all the advanced education that he could find and decided to cater his talents to women suffering with hair loss.  As the owner and operator of Raleigh Hair Concepts, he understands the need for women to feel complete.  Joseph believes the key to a renewed self-confidence is education and access to an effective treatment. He is the Vice President of the American Hair Loss Council and holds a Master’s certification with the AHLC.  Knowledge is power and passion gives you drive.
 

Karen Gordon is the owner of J. Gordon Designs, an internationally recognized salon in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood, and of Karen Gordon Hair Loss Solutions. As a Hair Color Specialist, Karen has trained with many of the world’s top colorists, is also a Certified Hair Coach and is completing certification as a Trichologist from both the International Association of Trichologists and World Trichology Association.  Karen is the Vice President of Cosmetologists Chicago/America’s Beauty Show. She serves on the Board of Directors for Intercoiffure America/Canada and the International Association of Trichologists (IAT). She is also a member of the American Hair Loss Council and the Professional Beauty Association (PBA).
 

Brent Hardgrave has more than 20 years of experience in the industry and has been a platform artist and educator for numerous major brands. A company’s abrupt departure from Atlanta, taking 60 of his clients with them, opened the door for Brent to expand his talents in the direction of the wonderful world of extensions. He is now a renowned extension expert. Expanding on the knowledge he gained in the first few months working with extensions, he discovered a niche and invented The Brent Brush followed shortly by a collaborative book on hair loss. Dr. Nikki D. Hill, MD, FAAD is a board-certified dermatologist who is nationally recognized for the diagnosis and management of medical hair loss conditions. She opened her practice, the Skin of Culture and Hair Center (SOCAH Center) in Atlanta, GA to focus on the needs of hair loss patients and to educate them about their conditions and the best treatment options for them. Dr. Hill has presented research at national and international conferences and continues to be a contributor for her peer-reviewed journals. She is a member of the Atlanta Association of Dermatologists and Dermatologic Surgeons, Women’s Dermatology, American Academy of Dermatology, Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons.
 

Evie Johnson is a salon owner, Certified Trichologist, platform stylist and educator trained under the most prestigious lines such as Vidal Sassoon, Pivot Point and Activia. Evie’s expertise is also represented by prominent product lines such as Alberto Culver and Mizani. She is, hands down, a master of her craft. Evie holds the title of Master Stylist for Mizani's International Developmental Team. Specializing in hair shaping, coloring and treatment, Evie’s creations can be seen and identified around the world. Simply and bluntly put she is on pace to be recognized as a global icon.
 

Dr. Demetri Karanzalis, N.O. is a board certified Anesthesiologist and Cosmetic Physician who specializes in non-invasive aesthetic procedures.  His passion for aesthetics has driven him to become a master injector and innovator.   “A comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology combined with attention to even the smallest details are essential in order to achieve a natural, beautiful, result.”   Dr. Demetri practices at A Medical Spa at Rizzieri in Moorestown, NJ where the friendly staff and inviting setting makes his patients feel at home.  Moving forward, he continues to dedicate his time to furthering education and advancing the practice of aesthetic medicine.
 

Susan Kettering began as a hair replacement consultant in 1975. Forty years later she still feels that same excitement as when she started in hair replacement. When Susan opened her first salon, in 1982, it was the first female-owned hair replacement studio in downtown Pittsburgh. She was the first female consultant for Medical Hair Restoration, an educator for International Hairgoods and Hair America. Susan offers private consultations for salons who are interested in opening a hair replacement center. Susan is the executive director of the AHLC and has been a member for over 28 years.
 

Hair replacement and restoration came into focus for Jeffrey Paul when his niece, a leukemia patient, asked for his help. In the process, he discovered his life’s mission; to serve the physical and emotional needs of individuals who have been scarred by disease, injury, and trauma. He conducts seminars and workshops for salon and spa professionals in the United States and Canada, teaching the latest techniques for hair restoration and replacement. He is the Founder of Wigs for Kids™ - the non-profit organization that provides custom-made Hair Replacement Systems at no cost to children losing their hair due to medical reasons.
 

Lauren Quick is the senior editor of MODERN SALON magazine. She's also the editor of both MODERN SALON Career Handbook and HAIR+. She has worked in the beauty industry for four years. Lauren attended the University of Missouri School of Journalism and is an avid Tigers fan (MIZ!). She was a department and web editor for Vox magazine and a reporter for the Columbia Missourian newspaper before she worked at MODERN SALON.
 

Steve Reiss is publisher of Modern Salon, is an active participant in the salon industry conversation and has presented on a range of topics at virtually every major industry event. Steve started his career in the fashion industry and spent time in the hospitality, global electronics and packaging industries before joining Modern Salon Media. Recently, Steve was included in the Folio 40, honoring the most distinguished media professionals.
 

Award-winning stylist, educator and entrepreneur, Frank Rizzieri is a master of hairdressing, a visionary and an astute business owner. A true renaissance-stylist, Frank has surpassed excellence in every aspect of the industry: as a teacher, celebrity hairdresser, owner of award winning salons, spa and school in New Jersey, Florida and New York City and a hair tool inventor. A three time North American Hairdresser of the Year and a Global Salon Business Award for Excellence in Business as one of the best run salons in the world, to name a few, Frank is renowned for his energetic, tireless work ethic, organic approach to beauty, rule-breaking creativity, technical precision and infectious passion for the craft.
 

With a background in publishing and project management, Janine Thornhill is the Administrator for The American Hair Loss Council. “It’s always striking to me how passionate, sensitive and caring our talented members are,” says Janine. She is also the Editor of The Link Magazine, the AHLC’s popular, quarterly publication specifically for the Hair Restoration Industry. Janine and her husband, Terrell own the design house Thornhill Creative. They live and work in downtown Franklin, TN, a charming, historic town just south of Nashville. 
 

As Creative Director for the American Hair Loss Council, Terrell Thornhill strives to keep his finger on the pulse of the ever-changing Hair Restoration Industry. His goal is to help promote The AHLC, keeping their message relevant, their image current and the benefits of membership increasing. Terrell is also publisher of The Link Magazine, the AHLC’s popular, quarterly publication specifically for the Hair Restoration Specialist. Terrell and his wife, Janine own the design house Thornhill Creative, Inc. They live and work in downtown Franklin, TN, a charming, historic town just south of Nashville. 
 

Dr. Candy Lewis Williams, N.D. is a board-certified Naturopathic Doctor and Trichologist dedicated to researching and applying naturopathy to the overall health of her clients. She’s recognized from appearances on the Dr. Oz Show as a leading expert in hair loss solutions, alternative and complementary medicine. A member of the International Association of Trichology (IAT), board member and curriculum developer for The US Trichology Institute she conducts seminars certifying attendees in Trichology. Celebrating over 35 years, Dr. Candy is an Ohio, Better Business Bureau’s, Women in Business Networking’s Top 25 Business Women to Watch, operating businesses in Texas and Ohio.
 

Sheila Wilson has been in the industry over 35 years, is the owner of Master Design Salon & Wellness Studio in Memphis, TN, a member of Intercoiffure America/Canada and serves as the 1st Vice President and the Atelier Chair. Working with several color companies and serving on the Presidential Board for Haircolor introduced her to other passionate colorists which lead to being one of the founding members of the International Haircolor Exchange and American Board Certified Haircolorists. Her chemistry background and knowledge has opened the door to work with people experiencing  hair loss/hair thinning and building the integrity of the hair pre and post chemotheraphy.
 

Patti Wood is a dedicated and resourceful Trichologist and hairstylist with over 40 years in the industry. She is a board member and educator for the US Trichology Institute and owner of a Trichology salon with over 150 active clients.  She’s an educational and training facilitator along with program development and certification course consultant. Patti provides expertise in all types of Hair loss treatments including Laser Hair Therapy, Hair Loss Products, non-surgical hair replacement therapy and client services as well as delivering presentations and education to individuals of all ages regarding hair loss and available options.
 

Kelli Yoder is a Master stylist with over 10 years of experience.  Having earned her outstanding reputation for elegant cuts and as a color expert, she has become the "go to" provider for sophisticated clientele.  Kelli has a passion for helping those with hair loss and provides knowledge and experience in hair replacement unparalleled in South Florida.  She has recently embarked on her newest venture, K&M hair systems, to provide high quality hair replacement options for south Florida and beyond.
