UPDO HOW-TO: Curled, Pinned and Pretty

MODERN SALON Facebook fan Kristie Brown, a stylist at Wesley Chapel, Florida's Beyond Hair & Co. salon, created this updo using Healium hair products.

First, she applied Healium's Reflective Mist evenly over the whole head. Then, she lightly sprayed each section with FibreFlex, then curled each section using a flatiron ribbon technique.

After the whole head was completely curled, she gently pinned each section downward, careful not to pull too tight. The shape of each ribbon curl should be intact on the top of the head, to add interest and texture. Pin everything, except leave the nape out.

Lastly, she took handfuls of curls from the nape, and pinned them into the previously pinned area.
