If Joan Rivers taught us anything, it's that blondes really do have more fun.
The comedian and fashionista known for her satirical and no-holds-barred critiques of the rich and famous has passed away at 81 due to complications during surgery.
Getting her start largely from The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in the 1980s, Rivers changed the playing field of comedy—especially for women—and made no apologies for who she was and what she said. She poked fun at herself about as much as she did at others, and she always kept a keen eye on fashion and beauty, particularly with The Fashion Police on E!
Though not a professional product, her beauty line included Great Hair Day, a fill-in powder for thinning hair. Reports stated that Rivers was having her hair and makeup professionally done even in her final days when she was on life support. The woman truly knew the value of beauty and kept her signature blonde hair throughout her career.
MODERN is keeping Rivers' daughter, friends and family in our thoughts during this difficult time.
