This color correction, by Nichole Gustas (@nicholedoeshair) of The Swank Studio, Oceanside, CA, had quite a challenge. Her natural level 3 client arrived to the salon sporting a complicated situation. Not only had one salon "botched" the color, but the client then tried to "fix" it herself. The client arrived one day later and this is what Gustas did to correct the situation:

FORMULA 1

Roots/base formula:

Half 55/0 half 5/1 Wella Koleston. 20 Volume developer.

FORMULA 2

Mid shaft/low light formula:

Three quarters 6/3 one quarter 7/0 Wella Koleston. 10 Volume developer

FORMULA 3

Balayage formula:

Wella Blondor bleach 20 Volume developer.

FORMULA 4

1oz 7NB 1oz 9NB  Redken Shades EQ

HOW TO:

STEP 1: Section hair into 4 quadrants.

STEP 2: Apply formula 1 to the virgin hair. Make sure not to go beyond the line of demarcation.

STEP 3: Using formula 2, free hand paint lowlights throughout the 4 quadrants.

STEP 4: Feather and smudge formula 1 and 2 together.

STEP 5: Now address the orange bands in the mid shaft. Balayage using formula 3 to gently lift to a level 8/9.

STEP 6: After processing, rinse and then toned with Formula 4 watching closely (for about 4-5 minutes).

STEP 7: Rinse and then wash with Unite Blonda Shampoo.

STEP 8: Deep condition with Unite U Luxury Intense Mask.
