For this color correction, Caitlin Ashjian, hair colorist at Taboo Haircare (Instagram’s @taboohaircare) wanted to make her client’s hair look as blended and natural as possible. “I wanted to give her an ashier, lighter tone all over, but still working with a base color close to her natural color so it wouldn’t involve that much upkeep.”

STEP 1: “I went through and neutralized her base using 7N (Davines, 20 volume) with pure blue additive to cancel out all the copper in her hair.”

STEP 2: “I pulled it about 6 inches down and let it process for 35 minutes.”

STEP 3: “Then, I washed it off and went through and gave her a full head of balayaged highlights using Wella Blondor Lightener with 40 volume.”

STEP 4: “I let the hair process and toned from her roots 3 inches down with 7,01 and 8N (double 7 volume) and pulled 9V and 10N (double 7 volume) through the rest."

STEP 5: “I combed it all together and let it process for 15 minutes.”

STEP 6: “I washed the hair using Kevin.Murphy Angel Wash. Then, I rinsed and dried it. To finish, I applied Kevin.Murphy Young Again Serum for a sleek blowout."
