Dip-dyed beach waves

At Chicago's Lollapalooza, August 2-4, Red 7 Salon provided hair services for VIPs and musicians in the Hard Rock Hotel's Hospitality Lounge. From Fishtail braids and topknots to dip-dyed beachy bedhead waves and side ponytails, the possibilities were endless for those who visited the suite.

Red 7 offered a little more than just styling, this year they offered visitors the option to incorporate a floral headband into their look. Word of mouth got around, and throughout the three days of the festival, the salon said that people poured into the suite asking for the accessory. Braids were also hot requests, stylists at the Red 7 Lounge said Waterfall braids, Fishtail braids, French braids and floating hairline braids were especially popular.

For men, they said clean-ups and neck trims were popular. Popular stylers included a variety of spray gels, hair sprays, defrizzing fluids and tea tree-infused water for prep.

MODERN caught up with the stylists at the VIP suite to peek in on the action and chat about their experience at Lolla this year. Check out the video here!
