MEN'S COLLECTION: Confident and Cool by Vaughn Acord

A man’s grooming routine is often passed down from generation to generation—whether he’s guided by his father on how to shave his neck, watched his uncle comb his hair, learned to clean under his nails before a date, he will carry those experiences with him throughout his life.

For Vaughn Acord, celebrity stylist, salon owner and founder of the new V76 by Vaughn, he learned of a “relaxed handsomeness” that comes from not trying too hard.

“As with fashion, hair changes from decade to decade, and some looks never go out of style,” Acord says. “But a bob will always be a bob, whether it’s razor cut, broken, graduated or paired with bangs, it’s a bob. It’s up to the stylist to interpret that classic shape.”

What has evolved over the past three decades, he says, is hair product. And, that’s what pushed Acord to launch V76 by Vaughn, a men’s line of specific, result-producing groomers designed to be, like the bob, timeless.

“We’re all on a stage every day in some way or another—whether it’s in a boardroom, in front of a camera, on a selling floor or in a law office,” Acord says. “Ultimately, what men want is confidence.”

In this collection, featured exclusively in MODERN SALON, Acord proves when a great cut is paired with confidence, any day can be “casual Friday.”
