The looks from Aveda’s Spring/ Summer 2009 collection are all about contrast. Intense colors blended with detailed cuts result in punk sophistication.
Under the creative direction of Antoinette Beenders, Global Creative Director/VP Creative for Aveda, the team used texture, color and volume with shades of violet and rose for edgy spring styles that can be modified for clients. The graduated shades used were created exclusively with Aveda Full Spectrum Hair Color and complemented the smooth or spiky textures in the hair.

Rich color, intricate cuts and detailed styling techniques: Aveda’s new Prism collection features it all. VP Creative Director Antoinette Beenders, who led the Aveda Artistic Team in the collection, says, “Cuts take on geometric shapes with graceful swirls of color for punky, yet sophisticated, looks.”
Fashion also played a part in the creation of the Prism collection. “We were looking at folds, pleats and layers in the wardrobe and playing with the concept of weight—I wanted the hair to emulate fabric,” says Kurt Kueffner, director of men’s education for Aveda.
