Kelly

(during)

Nancy wanted to give Kelly highlights that resemble kids' highlights. She framed the face for an over-all sun-kissed look. Kelly was precolored a day earlier. In the root area she was glazed with 8.31 L'Oreal Professionnel Richesse, an opaque demi, for 10 minutes for an even tone.

The highlights are Wella Blondor with 30-volume developer. Nancy started in back with a V-parting because the front area is already light. She always starts from the back, bottom up; left front, then right. This usual routine also helps with rinsing at the shampoo bowl. She creates contrast by not going all the way up to the roots. The result will be softer more diffused lines. She layered restaurant service plastic wrap (it's thinner and softer) in between each layer. Use less product by the roots and go heavier at the ends, she says. Baliage is surface work; it's not saturated. On Kelly's side sections, Nancy used jaw clips to hold the hair. She pulled hair from the clip and applied bleach to the front side of the hair only.

Danielle

(during)

Nancy performed a short style makeover on Danielle, an attorney.

She changed her base color:

Roots: L'Oreal Professionnel Diacolor light brown with 30-volume developer

Mids & ends: L'Oreal Professionnel Diacolor  dark blonde with 25-volume developer

Applied at the same time for 20 minutes

For her bailage, Nancy applied with a V or W near the roots for depth and lighter results near the ends. Emphasize the front, and follow the hair cut.

Melissa

A natural red head, Melissa had blonde highlights in her length in back. To color correct, Nancy used a no lift demi, L'Oreal Professionnel Diacolor Golden Copper and Copper.
