For the first time, CHI by Farouk Systems will be the presenting sponsor of the Miss Universe pageant on August 23, 2010 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. As the presenting sponsor, the event will be billed “CHI by Farouk Systems Presents Miss Universe 2010” and the company logo will be displayed on all marketing materials surrounding the pageant.

Throughout the telecast co-hosted by international superstar Bret Michaels and Today show co-host and correspondent Natalie Morales, artists from the CHI styling team will present easy glam tips and tricks to viewers. BioSilk and CHI 30-second hair tip segments will run world wide during the live television broadcast on NBC and Telemundo at 9 p.m. ET.

As part of the 30-second hair tip segments, Founder and Chairman Farouk Shami will demonstrate CHI Orbit Styling Tools and CHI Silk Infusion on Miss USA, Rima Fakih. Vice President Jason Yates will enhance Miss Puerto Rico, Mariana Paola Vicente’s natural waves with BioSilk Beach Texture and show how to achieve smooth volume on Miss Great Britain, Tara Vaitiere Hoyos with CHI Magnified Volume System. He will also demonstrate new FAROUK Royal Treatment by CHI on Miss Netherlands, Desiree van den Berg’s blonde tresses.

For the ninth consecutive year, Farouk Systems is the official hair care sponsor of the Miss Universe Organization. Lead by Global Artistic Board Member Tammy Mixon, the CHI styling team preps the hair for 83 contestants for all of the festivities; swimsuit, evening gown and interview rounds; as well as the judges and hosts.

“Farouk Systems is proud to be presenting the Miss Universe competition,” says Farouk Shami, founder and chairman. “Beauty knows no bounds or barriers and this international event brings the world together.”
