ModernSalonLearning.com will offer a new slate of courses through a partnership with Australian stylist and educator Jamie Carroll.
MODERN SALON Media’s popular educational website ModernSalonLearning.com has expanded its offerings through a partnership with international hairdressing and education leader Jamie Carroll. The site, devoted to helping stylists as they progress through their career, will offer professional development training created by Carroll, who is a master at combining fashion and business. In 2009 the business component will go online with classes in operations, finance, marketing and human resources.
“We believe our visitors to ModernSalonLearning.com will derive outstanding value from Jamie’s courses and gain important exposure to international style trends,” says MODERN Publisher Scot Stevens.
Modern Salon Media is updating its software to allow courses to be presented in a multi-media format that can be viewed in a formal training environment or at a stylist’s own workstation or home computer.
“The courses were filmed using three different camera angles and are combined with a professional voice-over making the video-streamed technology very user-friendly,” says Carroll. “I think it’s actually even better than a live presentation because it lets hairdressers learn at their own pace and go back and forth at will.”
Every course includes additional step-by-step stills and texts in the user’s chosen language.
ModernSalonLearning.com will continue to offer its current curriculum, which meets Continuing Education (CE) requirements for the state boards of Texas, Florida, Ohio, Georgia and Kentucky with ongoing efforts to receive additional certification for the core courses as well as the new courses created by Carroll.
