RED is going to be the bold new look for Fall 2011, predicts Nicholas Penna, Jr., owner and lead stylist of SalonCapri outside of Boston, MA. "I'm excited this cinnamon style is coming into fashion; it's a versatile look that works great on both blondes and brunettes," says Penna. Do you want some tips straight from Nick on this trend? See what he has to say about what shades of red go with different skin tones.

Red Hues for Fall 2011
For the cut: "Red hues look best in longer hair because it keeps the style sophisticated. If you're going to go red, you don't want to also get a drastic cut; ask for longer layers to achieve a natural, understated look," says Nick.

If you're a natural brunette: Nick suggests adding low-lights to your hair with deep, rich auburn or burnt cherry colors to enhance the natural shine and depth of your hair. "The contrast between the dark brown, orange and red hues will catch the light nicely and make your ‘do look both dynamic and rich," says Nick.

If you're a natural blonde: Go for shades of rusty blonde and red-orange. "Blondes can easily adopt red tones, but sometimes it can be difficult to achieve the desired effect. Stay away from predominantly orange-based colors; you don't want your locks looking coppery," warns Penna.

If you're olive toned: Stick with darker shades of brown and red. "Red tones compliment olive skin really nicely," says Nick. (They are compliments on the color wheel, after all!) Penna suggests infusing hair with richer browns and reds so the color in your face doesn't get washed out.

If you're fair toned: Try strawberry or bright red hues. "These colors are vivid and warm, and will bring out a natural rosy skin tone." Nick says to avoid pinkish and deep red colors because they will make your shag look cheap and unnatural.
